START WITH THE APPLICATION
The artwork needs a clear job.
It may become the main visual for a campaign, sit on packaging, support a product launch, appear on a limited edition, move into retail or extend into a physical mural.
Before commissioning, we define:
- what the artwork needs to communicate;
- the main application;
- the formats it must work across;
- how directly it should connect to the brand;
- the level of artist freedom;
- whether a physical original matters;
- the reproduction and usage requirements.
That gives the artist a useful creative brief and gives the brand a clearer production scope.
POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS
Commissioned artwork can be developed for:
- campaign master artwork;
- product launches;
- packaging artwork;
- limited-edition packaging;
- product graphics;
- key visuals derived from original artwork;
- retail and event applications;
- printed brand touchpoints;
- artwork used in photography or film;
- physical originals retained by the brand;
- murals or spatial applications derived from the same source.
One commission can stay focused on a single use or become the artistic source for a wider family of outputs.
PHYSICAL ORIGINALS AND SOURCE ARTWORK
Where material presence is useful, the commission can begin as a real artwork.
Paint, drawing, hand lettering and other physical processes can create marks and texture that become part of the final visual language. The original can then be photographed, scanned or adapted for the required applications.
Some briefs are better developed digitally from the start. The production route follows the application, audience and creative brief.
PACKAGING ARTWORK
For packaging commissions, Impact Murals focuses on the artistic layer.
We can create or adapt artwork to work with the required surfaces, proportions and dielines, in coordination with the brand, agency or packaging team.
Structural packaging engineering, regulatory copy, printing specifications and manufacturing remain with the relevant packaging specialists unless separately included by the project team.
DESIGNED TO ADAPT
A bottle, box, billboard, social crop and mural all use artwork differently.
If the same commission needs to move across several formats, we consider hierarchy, crops, detail, repeatable elements and alternate compositions early enough that the artwork remains useful beyond one master image.
ARTIST SELECTION
Different briefs call for different hands.
The project may need figurative painting, illustration, calligraphy, lettering, abstraction or another artistic direction. Impact Murals brings in the artist according to the brief and coordinates the development between artist, brand and production requirements.
USAGE AND OWNERSHIP
The physical artwork and the right to reproduce it are separate.
Campaign, packaging, advertising, merchandising and future reuse should be defined clearly so the client and artist both understand the intended scope.
